First successes in fibre printing prototype

ACE IT proof of concept coming soon

In March 2022 the ACE IT team at LSBU under the leadership of Alan Lewis invited us to start motion capture proceedings to develop our game changing training app concept sKILLsET.

Fractal Geometry for Sustainability

In 1983 Mike Hally designed the Star Wars arcade game for Atari. In the early 90s this proved to be my first introduction to wire frame 3D vector graphics in the back waters of New England where video games went to die at half deserted malls. In the early 2010s there was a lot of fashion being made using low poly geometry as a reflection of more widely available computer programmes that were then beginning to penetrate the design sector. This proved to be clever and aesthetic at the time, however it remained rather unexplored in the full range of the opportunities it could present.

Now in 2022, in a much more urgent state of affairs, from war to famine to disease to cultural conflict and a suffering planet some of the stones left unturned by the past may lead to new possibilities. Current research at our lab is focusing on reducing microwaste to nanowaste and unlocking new ways of making existing resources go further than ever before by challenging dominant production methods such as pattern cutting and sewing. Our focus is on increasing the use of now much more widely disseminated technologies such as 3D CAD software and laser cutting. The aim is to first be able to utilise the waste generated by current practice and in the future propose a markedly improved use of resources altogether.
